Kevin Lee, M.D.

Orthopedic Surgeon Board Certified Sports Medicine Physician

Dr. Kevin Lee was raised in Rexburg, Idaho. He received his associate degree from Ricks College in Zoology and graduated with highest honors and awarded the Spori Scholarship while at Ricks College. He continued his studies at Brigham Young University in Provo, Utah and graduated with a Bachelors of Science degree in Zoology as a Cum laude graduate and at that time was a member of the Phi Kappa Phi honor society. He pursed his medical training at University of Washington in Seattle, Washington and graduated with honors. He was also elected to the Alpha Omega Alpha Honor society in 1991 while a medical student at the University of Washington. He performed his general surgical internship at Oregon Health Sciences University from 1992 to 1993.

He successfully completed his orthopedic residency in 1997 at the Oregon Health Sciences University. As of 1999, Dr. Lee is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and is a Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons. He also carries a subspecialty certificate in Orthopedic Sports Medicine. Dr. Lee is a member of the Arthroscopy Association of North America, the Idaho Medical Association and Idaho Orthopedic Society. He has served as sports team physician for the former Ricks College football and basketball teams, and currently volunteers time as team physician for Madison High School and Sugar Salem High School.

Dr. Lee began his orthopedic surgery practice in Rexburg in 1997. His orthopedic practice covers general orthopedics with special emphasis in minimal invasive hip and knee joint replacement, total shoulder replacement including reverse total shoulder replacement. With his expertise and subspecialty training in sports medicine, Dr. Lee is particularly qualified in arthroscopic treatment of all shoulder, elbow, wrist, knee and ankle problems, with special interest in arthroscopic shoulder reconstruction/stabilization and rotator cuff repair, and all inside arthroscopic anterior cruciate ligament reconstruction. He also performs minimally invasive carpal tunnel surgery, and in office surgical treatment of chronic tennis elbow. Dr. Lee’s has extensive training and experience in hand, foot and ankle surgery as well as trauma surgery such as fractures of upper and lower extremities, tendon and ligament repair.

Outside of his orthopedic practice, Dr. Lee enjoys spending time with his wife and six children on their small ranch north of Rexburg and in Ashton. Personal interests include hiking, fly fishing, ranching, and backcountry skiing. He is also an accomplished backcountry pilot and a board member of the Legacy Flight Museum.
